Suri

Mountain View, CA

  Breed: Cavapoo

  Weight: 15 lbs

  Age: 1 year old

  Gender: Female

Hello everyone! 🐾 Suri is a playful 13lbs Cavapoo who loves humans and FOOD. Chicken bread is her all time favorite treat and liver is a close favorite 🤤 Suri loves going on walks and meeting other dogs, but is a little timid around bigger dogs. Gets along really well with other small doodles / dogs, and loves playing with humans even more. She might jump on you for attention, but a simple "off!" command should do the trick 😁 Suri usually goes on walks once a day for ~30min and has free roam of the house otherwise. She happily stays in a pen / crate when we leave the house, especially if she has a toy with her. She sleeps in her own bed but occasionally in ours when she's freshly showered 🤭 Suri is potty trained, she goes both outdoors and indoors on bark potty / fresh patch. She might take a while to warm up to a new potty area outside though - encouraging her to Go Potty with a treat in hand usually helps ☺️ We live in a townhouse with a park nearby. Happy to dog sit for you if the dates work out! Our preference is for smaller dogs since Suri is timid around medium - large dogs 😅 Would love to play with your dog some time :)

Why Dogs Are Happier Staying With A Family Than Dog Boarding

Dogs are social animals, and being around people and other pets can reduce stress and anxiety. Plus, the personalized attention they receive can make them feel right at home.

Finding The Right Dog Boarding Match

When it comes to finding the perfect dog boarding match in Mountain View, CA, there are several factors to consider. To ensure your dog's well-being and your peace of mind while you're away, follow these guidelines:

Assess Your Dog's Needs And Personality

When planning for your dog's care, it's essential to consider various factors that can impact their well-being and comfort. Begin by evaluating your dog's age, temperament, and activity level, as these traits can influence the type of care and environment that suits them best. Determine if they have any special requirements, such as medication or dietary restrictions, that need to be addressed during their stay. Additionally, consider your dog's socialization preferences and whether they are comfortable and get along well with other dogs, as this can affect their experience in communal settings. Taking these aspects into account ensures that you make a choice that aligns with your beloved pet's individual needs and ensures their happiness and contentment during your absence.

Research Local Boarding Options

It's essential to explore various options, including traditional boarding facilities, in-home boarding, and local dog communities. To make an informed decision, take the time to read reviews, check references, and, if feasible, visit the facilities in person. Most importantly, ensure that the chosen boarding arrangement aligns with your dog's specific needs and preferences, as tailoring their environment and care to match their personality ensures a comfortable and content experience for your beloved companion during your absence.

Meet The Caregivers

It's crucial to take a thoughtful approach. Start by scheduling meetings with potential candidates and carefully observe their interactions with your dog. Ask questions about their experience and daily routines to ensure they align with your pet's needs. Trust your instincts during this process; choose someone who genuinely cares for your dog's well-being and fosters a sense of trust and comfort for both you and your furry friend. This diligent selection process ensures that your dog receives the best possible care and attention while you're away.

Plan A Trial Stay

Before embarking on an extended trip, it's advisable to arrange a trial stay for your dog, either for a day or overnight. This trial period serves several important purposes: it allows your dog to acclimate to the new environment and caregivers, helping them feel more comfortable during the longer stay. Additionally, it provides you with an opportunity to evaluate the compatibility between your dog and the boarding facility or caregivers, ensuring that both parties are a good match and that your beloved pet will receive the care and attention they need while you're away.

Tips For A Smooth Transition: Preparing Your Dog For Boarding

A smooth transition into boarding is essential for your dog's comfort and happiness. Here are some tips to ensure your furry friend adjusts well:

  • Familiarize Your Dog with the Boarding Environment
  • Pack the Essentials
  • Maintain Your Routine
  • Leave Contact Information
